Traditional Clothes and Accessories Painting Exhibition ¡Ü Throughout my life, I have painted historical figures(ex. the portraits of kings and ancient sages) of our country with traditional painting techniques on silk. In addition, I am working on reproducing traditional costumes that are disappearing from our memory into pictures. In April, 1998, I published ⌜Our Clothes in the Joseon Dynasty viewed as a character painting⌟ (Hyunamsa Publishing Company) and held ⌜the Joseon Dynasty Dressing Painting Exhibition⌟ at the Deoksugung Palace Relics Exhibition Hall. The exhibition, which would be held for two months, had been extended for another month due to great interest and response in whole spectrum, including experts in Clothing Styles from academia, and has since continued nationwide. In addition, at the exhibition held at the invitation of the Midvest International Education Foundation in Middletown, Ohio, the U.S., I received great response from citizens there. ¡Ü ⌜Traditional Children's Dressing Painting⌟ which vividly reproduces the disappearing traditional costumes, is also an extension. While preparing for this book, I have seen clothes in the museum that show the 6-year-old child mummy's Joongchimak(a Korean overcoat with narrow sleeves) clothes buried next to a 400-year-old mummy, which were washed and shows sewing techniques. Special exhibitions, work books or pictorials alone were not enough to check the colors and detailed patterns left in the relics of children's clothing. ¡Ü Hosted by the Seokjuseon Memorial Museum of Dankook University in 2002, the Children's Dressing Fashion Show was a valuable event. It was a great opportunity to check the child's moving appearance and the beauty of the clothes. I focused on the moment so as not to miss a single move. The front and back of the child with various children's clothes, hats on the head, and various accessories that remained only as relics were drawn and filmed. Through this event, I was able to lay the foundation for a lively painting. ¡Ü "Children" is the eternal future.Children's clothing stored in various museums was collected in one place. They were works drawn because I wanted to try them on and see how they were worn. I planned them for a long time and collected data. ¡Ü Children's clothes that are different in times and different when worn, and various clothes and accessories to be worn in one body. The more you look closely, the prettier and cuter they are. You can feel the sincerity of the creator with your whole body. I wanted to dress, wear, wear, hang, and surround the clothes and accessories to the child. ¡Ü Mothers of this land chose colors without being bound by formality, and embroidered by sewing beautiful patterns and letters one by one. The letters "Subokgangnyeong(áøÜØˬˬ which means the hope that the child's future will be wide open, and "Ineuiyeji (ìÒëùÖÉòª which means virtue, correctness, etiquette and wisdom) which were blue and red. The sleeves, collars, strips of cloth, trains of cloth and shoulders and backs were filled with abstract patterns and multicolored stripes. ¡Ü Each one is unique and distinctive. The back appearance is as affectionate as the front. Bolkki( a kind of accessory against the cold) made of warm rabbit fur, often twisted and braided hair, pretty red hair tied at the end, and 3 or 4 years old children's accessory at the end of long hair after finishing hair trimming. By cutting sewing and connectting the odds and ends of cloth and making a sense of formative, quilted coat and skirt, and podaegi worn with baby piggyback were made. They are warm just by looking at themselves. There are also clothes where the needle with the thread remains intact on the decorative techniques of Jatmulim pattern of the collar and the prop. ¡Ü I did my best to show the bright and cute appearance of a child wearing Korean clothes by drawing ⌜Children's Dressing Painting⌟. I tried to revive the sewing and patterns of my mother's sincerity of wishing for the health and happiness of my children in three dimensions. I didn't want to miss any of the various forms, functions, patterns, and colors of children's clothes. Wrinkles that are unnecessary to preserve affection and characteristics and give a realistic feeling were omitted, and the lines on the clothing were minimized.I received a lot of help from many people in publishing ⌜Traditional Children's Dressing Painting⌟. ¡Ü I can't forget the support of those who lend and provide materials and give the courage in reproducing pretty children's clothes.
